The Old Land
The Geier mile is based on the Geier foot, which was standardized in A.E. 590 by the Triumverate of Kings. Like the Solaran mille implemented by Abelardus I and introduced to the Geierlands by Charul I, it is equivalent to one thousand feet. However, a Geier foot is slightly longer than the Solaran foot, making the Geier mile a greater distance. This measurement was implemented to acknowledge Three Kingdom independence from the Sun Empire, with the kings having their lords tear down old Solaran millemarkers and erecting new stone markers commissioned from the Dwarves.
